Shaw's carpets made from Anso Nylon 6 come with a label featuring information about the postconumer recycled content of the carpet. These carpets are made from the recycled nylon of used carpets in the past, helping save the enviorment one step at a time. This is made possible by Evergreen Nylon Recycling, Shaw's Nylon 6 recycling center in Augusta, Georgia. The Facility converts old, used Nylon 6 carpets back to its original starting material. Named Caprolactam, it's the building block for Nylon 6 fibers. Old Caprolactam is mixxed with new nylon, helping create new Anso nylon fiber. While the Anso Nylon 6 carpets contain nylon produced by the Evergreen post-consumer caprolactam, the percentage of the recycled content varies from sample to sample. This is just one of the steps Shaw is helping save the environment and will continue to find new ways of recycling while at the same time bring fantastic quality carpets to the consumers.
